The Southern Utah Pylon Racing Association
held it's final race of the 2008 season on November 15. The event
was hosted by the Remote Possibilities RC Club and was held at their new flying
site in St. George, Utah. We were able to
complete 3 rounds in 3 classes in just over 2 1/2 hours.
The
weather was typical November St. George weather with temperatures in the 70's
and no wind throughout the day. It was a perfect day for racing and turned
out to be an overall great time.
None
of the airframes sustained any real permanent damage and there were no fatal
crashes. This race also saw our first event which included electric
powered aircraft. All 3 of the entries in the Sport Class were electric
powered and were alot of fun to see and made for some very entertaining racing.
There were a
total of 9 registered pilots and 11 registered aircraft in three classes.
A big thanks again to all who participated
and helped. Another big thanks to everyone who had any involvement
throughout the season either as a racer or helped with the races in any
way. Our inaugural season turned out to be a great success which is due to
all who were there and were willing to be part of it. We are looking
forward to many great things and much more excitement in the upcoming
season. I encourage any and all who wish to come on out and give it a try.
