& 15, 2008
The last couple
of days have seen some great improvements take place at the flying
site. A crew from the County Landfill brought out some heavy
equipment and began moving earth from the South end to the North end in
an effort to level the runway. Little by little the runway is
looking very good and we should be able to fly from it very soon. (Thanks
to Don Blanchard and Paul W. for the photos).
This is a shot looking South
over the pit area. Here you can begin to see how much earth has
been brought from the South end.
Looking North from the center of
the pit area. The dirt bank you can see will eventually be worked
and will become the East side of the runway.
Another shot looking South from
the center of the pit area.
A good look at the new frequency board. A big thanks to Jerry for
providing the material and time to put this together, GREAT JOB.
Looking South from the center of the runway. As you can see, there
is still alot of work to be done but it is starting to look very good.
Looking South from the far North end of the runway. You can start
to see how high this bank is going to be.
Anther shot looking South, this one is from the West side of the runway.
This Shot was taken from the far North end of the field looking across
the runway to the Southwest.
Standing on the edge of the runway from the center of the pit area
