On July 21, 2007 we held our first ever Cross Country event at the new Three Peaks Modelport.  The day turned out to be a very good day for flying, not too hot and for the most part the wind cooperated.  The course was just over 39 miles round trip and it appeared that all involved had a good time.

The pilot meeting to go over the rules and introduce everyone.
Here we see some of the flyers getting ready to go.
A couple of the flyers discussing the particulars of one of the planes.  This model was a very good choice for a cross country event.  A very stable flyer and easy to see.
The turnaround area at the halfway point gave everyone a chance to relax for a moment and discuss what had happened during the first leg of the trip.
Another shot at the turnaround area as one of the flyers readies his plane for the return trip.
A few more of the pilots having a little rest before continuing.
A quick check of things before taking off again.
And we're off!!!
One of the teams of driver, crew and pilots as they ready to begin the trip to the finish line.
Another successful landing resulting in a successful finish at the end of the trip.
The not so great part of a day of flying, the clean-up and breakdown of the planes...
Of the 3 planes that did not finish the course, 1 of them remains missing in action.  Here is one of the teams after a successful recovery of one of the downed airplanes.  Kinda reminds me of Deer camp, with an airplane in place of the rotting carcass in the back.
