The event took place at the dry lake bed of Quichipah Lake just west of town.  It was one of the few windless days we had for many weeks.  The event was a good time for all who were there.
Contest Director Kelly Dangerfield (in white shirt) and Leonard Bayless enjoy a little "quiet" time with Kelly's electric Cub before the start of the event.
Pilots and spectators look on as Contest Director Kelly Dangerfield (pointing) goes over the particulars of the event.
A look at "the pits" during the event.
Instructor Don Thomas (right) assists trainee Bert Mitchell with his Avistar.  The event hosted pilots with all skill levels from beginner to some of the most advanced pilots in the area.
(From left): Bert Mitchell and "Duke" (holy cow is there anything you can't fly?) Smith ham it up and look on as young pilot hopeful John Chidester takes the controls with the help of instructor Don Thomas.
