The event took place at the
dry lake bed of Quichipa Lake just west of town. The day turned
out to be a very good day to hold an event. The wind stayed under
control and the people who stopped by all had a good time. The day
brought out between 80 to 100 spectators and 30 to 35 of them got a
chance to take the sticks of one of the trainer airplanes that were
available. |

Don Thomas helps a young potential future
pilot as other spectators look on. Don was a real trooper spending
over 4 hours on the controls of a trainer allowing as many who wanted
try their hand flying a model airplane. |
Don Blanchard showing off one of his many
models and giving a quick overview of the inner workings. |

Another club pilot, (Kelly Dangerfield
shown here), answering a few questions posed by one of many young ladies
who came to observe and even give it a try. |
Another look at the flight line as both
club members and spectators look on as the event progressed. |

A good look at Dennis Sherwood readying his 230 Extra to
give a demonstration of what a top pilot can do with enough training and
practice and a good, solid aircraft. |
As the flying was winding down, Don Thomas makes himself
available to answer as many questions as he can posed by those who both
participated or were just curious. |
